Don't have a mutt to strut? "Rent" a PAWS dog at the $100 registration level and make a new friend - for the day or for life!

Every Mutt Strut registrant receives a personalized fundraising page. Set a goal, then get started raising funds to save lives! Your registration fee acts as a kickoff donation to your page. Ask family, friends, and colleagues to support your efforts on behalf of Philadelphia's homeless animals and bring us closer to becoming a no-kill city.

Looking for your new best friend at the Mutt Strut? Visit the Adoption Central tent to meet our dogs. Adoption staff will be on-hand to help make a match!
Every available PAWS dog will be attending, so it's a perfect opportunity to adopt. To learn more about our adoption process and see our list of available dogs, click here. Note this list may be incomplete and is subject to change, as dogs get adopted and new ones are rescued in their place.
We recommend that all interested adopters complete the application ahead of time. Applications will be available to complete at the Mutt Strut, but getting a head start in advance will increase the likelihood that you will be able to take a dog home from the event. We will do our best to make a match for you if you apply in person, but we cannot guarantee same-day adoptions.
Parking is free! When you arrive, attendants will direct you where to go. The Navy Yard is at the southernmost point of Broad Street, past the sports complex. Upon entering The Navy Yard, proceed straight to the guard’s station and you will be waved in. Proceed to the 1st traffic light, Crescent Drive, and make a left. Proceed one block and make a right onto 13th Street. You will be directed into the parking lot.
By public transportation:
Take the SEPTA Broad Street Line to AT&T Station. We will be running a free shuttle to the Navy Yard; the shuttle will pick up across Broad Street from AT&T station and will run every 20 minutes. After the walk, the shuttle will return to AT&T Station in 20 minute intervals. Please note that only pets enclosed in hand-held carriers are permitted on SEPTA.
With 2,000 people and 1,000 dogs expected to attend, it's important that everyone follows these rules to make sure we all enjoy the day.
- All dogs must be kept on a leash no more than 6 feet long. Retractable leashes are not permitted.
- Participants must be 18 or older to handle dogs (even their own).
- All dogs must be up to date on vaccinations.
- All owners must clean up after their dogs. Plastic bags will be available at the registration table, but please come prepared with bags of your own.
The registration fee is per person. Dogs strut free!
I cannot attend the event. Is there still a way I can support PAWS?
Make a donation: you'll make a meaningful impact by supporting our lifesaving efforts and also bring us closer to our Mutt Strut fundraising goal!
Is the Mutt Strut accessible for those with disabilities?
Yes! When you arrive, parking attendants can direct you to handicap parking. The Mutt Strut walk route is wheelchair accessible.
Is the Mutt Strut child-friendly?
Yes! Kids under 12 attend free, the first 100 kids will receive a special prize, and there will be activities to enjoy like face painting.
Do I have to register online in advance to attend?
You are welcome to register in person when you arrive at the Mutt Strut, but registering in advance online will save you time at the check-in tent.
If I registered online, do I need to check-in when I arrive?
Yes! All attendees should proceed to the Registration tent upon entering. Those who pre-registered online will check in briefly at the Registration tent. Those who are not yet registered can do so at the Registration tent by completing the waiver form provided and paying the registration fee.
It's a scenic 1.5 mile loop around The Navy Yard.
Is the $25 registration fee required even if I'm not doing the walk?
Because the Mutt Strut is a fundraiser, we ask every attendee to contribute the registration fee. The fee covers entry into the entire event, which includes both the walk and festival at The Navy Yard.
What does my registration fee go towards?
All funds raised at the Mutt Strut, including registration fees, go directly to PAWS to fund our lifesaving efforts. We rely on donations raised at the Mutt Strut to fund our work year-round to rescue and care for thousands of Philadelphia's homeless pets. They won't make it without you!
Can I bring additional donations to support PAWS?
Yes! We will be accepting cash and credit card donations throughout the day and hope to break fundraising records! If you would also like to bring items on our wish list, we will gladly accept them. There will be a collection site near the registration area. Things we need most urgently are: paper towels, contractor trash bags, bleach, laundry detergent, clay (non-clumping) cat litter, and canned dog and cat food (no dry food, please).
All humans are welcome, with or without mutts! There are plenty of things to see and do, so you will have a great time even without a dog. Or, if you'd like a dog to walk, you can rent a PAWS dog for the day.
When you arrive and check in at the Registration tent, you will be given a coupon and directed to the prize booth. If you raised funds but cannot attend the Mutt Strut, email us at email@example.com to arrange prize pickup at a PAWS location after the event.
Can I bring cash and check donations and will they count toward my fundraising total?
Yes! Bring any additional donations with you and present them at the Registration tent. They will count toward your fundraising goal along with any online donations you have raised.
What will happen in the event of bad weather?
If severe weather is forecasted, we will hold the Mutt Strut the following day: October 23. We will make an announcement on Friday if the Mutt Strut must be moved to the rain date.
